Thousands of construction workers could be heading back to work as soon as Monday now that Gov. Jay Inslee has lifted restrictions on some types of projects.

The only construction jobs that can restart right away are those that are "low risk" and those where workers can stay six feet apart from one another.

On Friday, Gov. Inslee announced that low-risk residential and commercial construction can start up again if builders protect their workers from COVID-19.

There needs to be a safety plan at each job site, according to the governor.

It needs to include personal protective equipment, physical distancing, a cleaning and sanitizing policy, and a COVID-19 supervisor to monitor symptoms.
